The Fierce Urgency of Now!
The heart of the United States is in peril
Speech by Dr. Paul Zeitz, Founder, #unifyUSA, July 24, 2024 at Palestinian Liberation-led Action to Interrupt State of Israel speech before the U.S. Congress (Jerusalem Post, July 24, 2024).
Revolutionaries, change-makers, thought-leaders, and activists, I am honored to speak to you about opportunities before us, in this time of peril!
We stand at a pivotal moment in our nation's history. A moment that calls for deep reflection and decisive action.
Neither the Executive, Legislative, nor Judicial branches of our government have been able to hold Donald Trump accountable for violating his oath of office, for inciting sedition, and for leading a failed coup attempt on January 6, 2021—an event we all witnessed on our screens.
And yet, this individual is allowed to run for President- AGAIN!
Today, we are witnessing Democrats and Republicans from the House and Senate inviting the State of Israel to speak before a Joint Session of Congress.
I am standing in solidarity with the Palestinian people’s liberation movement, drawing a red line right here and now.
The State of Israel and its leaders are actively being investigated and charged for crimes against humanity, including genocidal acts, war crimes, and violations of humanitarian law by the International Court of Justice and the International Criminal Court, as well as within our own U.S. court systems.
The fact that State of Israel is even HERE, and is speaking before the US Congress, abandoning the 116 Israeli and international hostages still trapped in Gaza, while shamefully slaughtering 200,000 Palestinian souls over the past 9 months - is an abomination.
These actions by the State of Israel and their presence here today are an abomination.
All Jews everywhere are suffering with moral injury and shame, and the waves of anti-semitism that are coming will affect us all.
The State of Israel actions are an affront to the very principles upon which our United States democratic form of government is based.
These two examples—Trump's impunity and the invitation extended to a state under such severe charges—clearly demonstrate that the heart of the United States is so obviously in peril.
On top of that, the daily suffering of Americans who can't make ends meet, who are struggling to survive, is yet another testament to the failure of our government to ensure the well-being and flourishing of all Americans.
The Heart of America can and will be replaced with a youthful heart that can reignite the spark of the American dream, unify all Americans to create a love-centered American Society.
We can create a U.S. 3.0 with a new vision of our country.
We can no longer patch up a broken system. It is time to forge a new path, to build a new system that truly serves the people. Together, we can rise to meet this challenge.
Together, we can restore the soul of our nation.
Together, we are here to free ourselves.
We are here to free ourselves from our broken and unfixable government.
We are here to liberate our hearts and open our minds.
The gates have swung open this week.
Such a chance will not come again; we must keep these gates open with all our might. We must open these gates for new discussions, systems, and purposes now.
The time to act is NOW.
We don’t have to fix this old, tired, broken system.
Why should we?
This new presidency doesn’t have to fix an old, worn-out system. They don’t have the ability to. They’ve proven that time and time again. They’re proving it, today.
Instead, we have a NEW system. A system that peacefully ushers in a way forward, bringing all parties to the table to make decisions that benefit us all.
A new governmental system IS possible, and the gates are open for us to introduce it. NOW.
What’s needed is you—the interdependent thinkers of our time.
The people are standing outside these gates.
You.
Me.
US.
WE are already unified in your discontent with this broken, limping system.
Now is our time to take charge and light the path towards a new, revolutionary, interdependent way of leading.
Can we use the crises we face as the launchpad for our leap forward?
Can the worsening crises be the spark that ignites a transformational leap?
Can we use these crises as our opportunity to put love at the center of our social, economic, and political systems?
OF COURSE WE CAN. AND WE WILL.
This is not an US vs. Them system. This is an US system. This is an US government.
We are building an interpartisan government !
If you’re a Democrat, bring a Republican. If you’re a Republican, bring a Democrat.
Let’s build the Noah’s Ark of political collaboration, bringing in pairs to rescue one another and revive the American Dream.
Millions of people worldwide are working steadily and humbly on a peaceful revolution of compassion and justice because they know that peaceful revolution and interdependence is possible.
We are calling for local people’s assemblies. #unifyUSA is where the information and the frameworks lay.
People around the country are starting democracy hubs, where fierce, thoughtful and interdependent conversations are had that are laying the foundations for our new system.
Minority voices are to be heard loudly and clearly. YOUR opinions matter, and your voices will be heard loudly and clearly and your agendas will acted upon as well.
We are organizing the Second People's Convention as soon as possible, where the people of the United States will be able to participate actively in an interpartisan negotiation to create our country’s new democratic governing system to establish the next chapter of our country: U.S. 3.0 under an Inter-dependence Covenant.
It is happening, and the ferocity with which it moves depends on you.
So let’s rise IN this moment TODAY. Let’s prop open these gates, united in our purpose to:
Ignite our inspiration.
Unlock our political imagination.
Act boldly to achieve political reformation.
Let’s act boldly, open-mindedly, and with revolutionary optimism.
There words of the late Martin Luther King Jr. resonate strong in my heart, when he said,
“We are now face with the fact that tomorrow is today! We are confronted with the fierce urgency of now!”
We must act now to bring forward a new U.S. 3.0 as we have this opportunity and we don’t want to be too late!
Let’s rise now to prevent fascism in the US, heal the soul of America, and unify with each other to build a better future for ourselves and future generations.
Together, we can and we will create a new system, a new future, and a new way forward.
